Ayutthaya – Puk Hai – Lad Chado (-/L/D)
The day starts with an 08.30 briefing at Ayutthaya Boat and Travel office, where you can check out your bike and pack for your overnight at a homestay. The tour begins with an exploration of the ancient island city of Ayutthaya, experiencing the highlights of the Historical Park by bicycle.
Before heading out, we will watch an informative presentation that gives an overview of Ayutthaya at the multimedia information complex in the Tourist Information Centre in the old City Hall. Then ride to visit;
Afterwards, we continue our journey on the back roads through the green scenery of Thailand’s rural heartland that is the central plain to explore many local communities, stopping for a picnic lunch along the way. We end our bike trail by cruising along a peaceful and ageless canal to our accommodation (cycling today: 41 kms).
Lad Chado – Pa Mok – Ayutthaya (B/L/-)
On Day 2, we join the local people in a merit-making ceremony by offering food to the Buddhist monks as they make their morning alms round by small paddle boat. After breakfast, we will explore the local village before starting our journey back to Ayutthaya. We'll spend another enjoyable day in the countryside visiting places such as Wat Pamok to see one of the most beautiful reclining Buddhas in the region, a drum making workshop and the Royal Dolls Centre, which is under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, before finally arriving back in Ayutthaya in the late afternoon(cycling today: 54 kms).
Stay with a local family
Experience true local Thai cuisine as we stay overnight with a local family and help them prepare our dinner. An experience to remember, you’ll be sharing your stories with your friends back home of how you made traditional food with local people.
Cycling is a great way to explore Ayutthaya and its surrounding communities, combined with a short cruise along a peaceful canal to the village homestay.
You must have a medium level of fitness to participate on this tour
The real Thai way is to integrate travellers into the local community and so minimise the impact on their daily lives.
